February Highlights

February Highlights

Does anyone know where February went? In stark comparison to January, which felt like a year in itself, February has come and gone in the blink of an eye! The one thing that these months did have in common, was that they were both far too cold. We all know that cold weather comes with the panic around drying out skin and brittle nails. The majority of my highlights this month are skincare related.

Beauty

Simple Kind to Skin Rich Moisturiser

You may know by now that I’m often a huge advocate for high-end skincare, and I tend to believe that you get what you pay for. I may however, have to eat my words here because this moisturiser is fantastic and costs less than a caramel latte. I bought it at the airport on the way to Rome last year after panicking that I hadn’t packed any type of moisturiser in my carry-on. It was soon forgotten about. I revisited it this month as I’ve been making a conscious effort to use up products (I have a terrible habit of buying new things far quicker than I can use up those I already own, which leaves me juggling eight different moisturisers at any one time). Simple’s Kind to Skin doesn’t overtake Clinique’s Moisture Surge as my favourite moisturiser, but considering it will cost you £32.86 less, its definitely one that I would recommend.

Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner

This product does what it says on the bottle. You can read more about why I recently switched to this toner here, but to summarize, its far more hydrating than my usual toner while doing just as good a job. This product smells exactly how you would expect it to considering its Spa brand status and it’s relaxing scent makes it perfect for evening use.

Sand & Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask

My M&S 2017 Beauty advent calendar gifted me with a sample of this and its honestly one of the best at home face masks I’ve ever used. Over Winter I have quite dull skin. After using this once a week for the past three weeks, its become noticeably brighter and generally more healthy looking. The full sized product comes with an application brush, so I’m excited to re-purchase as I think that its a really handy feature for mess free application.

Sosu by SJ Gigi False Eyelashes

I’m not sure if its just a matter of poor luck, but recently I haven’t been overly impressed with my usual go to lash- Ardell’s Demi Wispies. I noticed the Gigi lashes whilst browsing the PLT website. They looked so pretty I just had to have them. In person, they look exactly as they do online, naturally pretty and fanned out. I’ve applied these same ones twice so far and they still have life in them. I’ll be repurchasing and would definitely recommend them for anyone who likes everyday wear, natural looking false lashes.

February Favourites

Lifestyle

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

The Ivy, Chelsea Garden was on my list of places I’d love to visit this year. By visit, of course, I mean take Instagram pictures in front of. In February my partner and I were in London and stopped by for brunch. The whole restaurant is absolutely beautiful from the inside out, the service and menu is impeccable. I decided on the Hot Buttermilk Pancakes and The Ivy Set Cooler (cucumber, apple, lime, mint and soda). If you’d like to check out more photos of this place then head over to my Instagram.

The Bedingfeld Arms

I almost forgot about Valentines Day! Despite the terrible weather we ventured to a local restaurant that we hadn’t visited before in the evening. If you live around Norfolk or ever visit, then this is definitely a restaurant I would recommend. They’re always busy, which speaks for itself, and the food was gorgeous.

I hope you had a great February and kept warm! What did you love?

Great favorites post! I have to say that I’ve been using the Ardell Wispies, so I would love anything that would be better than them. I’m going to check out the SoJu ones! Thanks for the recommendation! xxx

I usually love the demi wispies but haven’t been too lucky recently with them breaking whilst trying to un-peel them from the pack etc. The SoJu ones are amazing though! xx

Oh I love ginseng products! I need a hydrating toner because I get super dry around my nose area. As for false lashes, I have the biggest trouble getting them on, I’ve given up LOL

February was really short compared to January which went on for like for ever! It seems like you had really fun in The Ivy and at Valentines Day! Well, for me, I was at home most of the time, since my mom gave birth to my little brother and I had to study for so many exams! I really feel guilty because I totally neglected my daily face care routine etc. The producs sound really interesting! I should try some of them, I really need to find a better moisturizer!

Time is flying by. Can’t believe two months have passed so fast. We just celebrated the new year. 🙂 I recently tried the Simple face wash and the micellar water which I found to be very nice. I always tend to forget to use toners hehehe. You are looking gorgeous in the picture.

I agree, February seemed to whizz by! I had a sample of the Sand & Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask in a Birchbox last year and I quite liked it but couldn’t justify the price tag when I have so many masks in my drawer that need using up (oops!). I also bought a Simple make up remover at the airport once and, like you, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the product was. My go to skincare will always be Origins but it’s nice to read other recommendations! Lovely round up, xx

Ooh Ardell Demi Wispies are my favourite too! I usually just the super cheapy sets off of eBay for like £2 now though as I can’t justify the price haha, those lashes look gorgeous though! Elemis is such a fab skincare brand too, my mum uses the marine cream and swears by it, would love to try that toner!
