Look After Yourself with Adagio Teas

Look After Yourself with Adagio Teas

Looking After Ourselves

I feel like 2018 is the year of looking after ourselvesWellness, and the importance of mental health days are concepts which I’m seeing an awful lot of, and I’m 100% down for it. One of my favourite places of well being and relaxation is the Center Parcs Aqua Sana Spa which I’m headed off to again on Sunday! Last time I was there I read all about small, everyday ways of promoting well-being in your life. Although I find reading articles like these both beneficial and enjoyable, they typically remind me of healthy habits which I already know. Tips like; make sure you get enough sleep, eat natural, healthy foods, and limit your screen time. I’m definitely guilty of eating bad food and too much screen time but I have the sleep covered.

The tip which really interested me though was tea related. Everyone loves a cup of tea. The advice which really amazed me was that regularly drinking it can dramatically reduce your chances of getting dementia. In fact, after some further research, I’ve learned that studies suggest that green tea can provide many more astounding health benefits. They include helping to prevent cancer, boosting metabolic rates and improving memory. This year I’ve been trying to focus more on both my physical and mental health. I’ve implemented a few dramatic lifestyle changes like working out at least twice a week and trying to eat more healthily. I’ve also made a fair few smaller changes, like getting up earlier, substituting a few mindless TV evenings for those curled up with a book instead, drinking far more water and now, green tea too.

Healthy Habits

For a few months now, I’ve been making a conscious effort to calm my mind. One of the ways I’ve been doing this is by simply making time to be less busy. My mornings in the sunshine accompanied by a cup of tea and a book have become invaluable to me. Apparently, they’re also great for both my mental and physical health. The last few months of developing this particular healthy lifestyle habit have allowed me more than enough time to trial a whole range of Adagio’s teas. I’m now an official convert. They were kind enough enough to send me some of their sample packages so I’ve now tried a huge variety of their flavoured teas. My favourite packet has been The Orchard White, which contains fruity strawberry, peach and blueberry flavours. Although I know that a lot of people assume that loose leave teas are difficult, Adagio’s ingenuiTEA pot set makes the process so easy, and the glassware is just the most aesthetically pleasing cup I’ve ever owned. Their iced teas are as yummy as their normal loose leaf. I also love adding fresh fruit to them for even more health benefits.

Recently I’ve been thinking about the concept of need, and that our culture grossly over-uses the word. There are a lot of things which we want to own, experience, or get ticked off of our lists. The thing is, few of them are situations of need. What I think all of us genuinely need, is the time to look after ourselves. Almost everything else can wait.

I love tea , but like it really sugary so I switched to green tea ages ago and love it. Simple green tea isn’t for everyone but you can’t really go wrong with flavoured tea!

I’ve been getting into tea recently – I really want to try some green tea but I wouldn’t know what to go for – in terms of flavours! The Orchard White tea does sound delicious, so may have to try that out. Hope you have a fabulous time at the spa 🙂

What a lovely post, this made me feel calm just reading it! Absolutely gorgeous photos too. My mum has a loose tea leaves pot and it’s one of the most fun things I’ve ever used haha! I adore the sound of the blend of fruits in The Orchard White and am a sucker for iced tea especially. So damn jealous of you heading off to the Aqua Sana Spa, I hope you have the best time!

I think everyone needs to spend some more time looking after themselves, it’s like we all just forget. That Orchard White tea sounds amazing! Really love the photography in this post, too x

Wellness is so important, as if taking it slow. Looking after yourself really helps recharge! I had never heard about this brand but I love tea (and flavored tea) so i’d be up for trying it!

Ugh. I just tried to leave a nice long comment and it malfunctioned when I tried to submit. Key points: I love green tea too. Self care is huge this year and I love it. My blog is new but I want to incorporate self love and self care as a component for sure and love reading similar posts.

    Thanks for the fun post!

I love drinking herbal tea, it’s amazing how much of a difference it makes to your mental and physical health. It’s so important to look after yourself and drinking tea is such an easy way of doing this. Lovely Blog post x

I wish I liked green tea but I just can’t seem to get into it. I use to drink a lot of english tea but I always need so much sugar so I’ve cut it out completely and haven’t had tea in months but reading your post is making me think I should really try to get into green tea for the healthy side of things! Maybe I’ll give it another go! Great post and it sounds like a great brand! xx

    • June 10, 2018 / 10:30 pm

I’m not a huge fan of the typical green tea but I really like some of the flavoured ones.. mint ones are always a pretty safe bet too! xx

I always love your posts and this one is no exception! Tea is one of my favourite things in the world and I’ve never heard of Adagio’s before – I’ve got to check them out, especially the orchard white because the combination there sounds amazing! I totally agree – I always make time to sit and relax with a cup of tea and forget the stresses of life for a moment. If you don’t, I believe you’ll drive your own self insane! x

Aw thank you so much! Oooh yes definitely check them out, they have an amazing selection and their samples are just amazing for people who like a variety! x

  19. June 10, 2018 / 9:31 pm

I loved this! I really like the fact you’re talking about small changes to make a healthier lifestyle overall not suddenly trying some crazy strict regime and pretending you’re going to stick with it. I knew green tea had loads of health benefits but I had no idea about the dementia! Time to put the coffee cup down…x

Aw I’m so glad! I think that people go so wrong when they try and make loads of huge changes all at once because of course they’ll struggle! I had no idea either until recently, its amazing isn’t it! x

  20. June 10, 2018 / 11:13 pm

I love the idea of taking time for self care! Tea, sunshine and a book sounds incredible, and I’ve recently tried to take more me time to just chill. I love your photos too, so beautiful! Lived this post!

  21. June 13, 2018 / 2:23 pm

I’ve never been to Centre Parcs but it’s on my list! Hopefully next year. I agree in that it’s THE TIME to focus on looking after yourself – and that’s brilliant. I’m not very experimental with tea, I’ve never found a herbal or fruity tea I like so I just stick to good old builders tea but I would like to experiment with it more for sure. Also I NEED to work on having less screen time. I spent literally 17 hours on my laptop working the other day and I felt like I was going blind afterwards! Gorgeous photos <3 xxx

  22. November 10, 2018 / 8:30 pm

Ooh I love a good tea and these ones look delicious. I’m in full blown tea mode now that the autumn evenings are here!
