Bedside Table Beauty

Bedside Table Beauty

I’ve never had a problem sticking to a typical skincare routine. I religiously follow one and even on the latest of nights I follow a simplified version of it to avoid blemishes or problems with my skin. What I’m not so good at, is remembering to use additional beauty products. A couple of months ago I figured that in order to tackle this, I should incorporate a second step to my evening beauty routine, involving all of those products I tend to forget. The following is a list of things that I make sure to keep in my bedside table so that they’re handy and ready to use right before bed.

Bedside Beauty

A Calming Candle

I find a calming candle an essential addition to my bedside table. At the moment I’m burning a Neom candle which has quite a strong lavender scent making it perfect for evening calming and relaxation.

Body Butter

Body butter is something which I used to struggle to remember. I then got to a stage in which I couldn’t fit any more body lotion birthday and Christmas gifts into storage and I knew I had to start tackling them. After incorporating it into my bedside routine I now use it almost everyday and my legs are looking and feeling much better for it.

Bedside Beauty

Hand Cream

I honestly have about thirty different hand creams which have also built up from gift sets over the years. By keeping them in my bag, at my desk and in my bedside table, my hands are feeling softer and smelling better than ever before!

Biotin Tablets

Supplements have really aided the health of my hair and nails and I like to take one every evening before bed. At the moment I’m taking Pure Biotin from TrueVit, by keeping it in my bedside table with my pill, I know that I won’t ever miss one.

Bedside Beauty

Lip Butter

Lip butter is something which I’ve never had a problem remembering. Applying it just after I’ve cleaned my teeth before I go to bed leaves my lips feeling soft and comfortable. It also ensures that they’re moisturised and ready for lipstick in the morning! I’m not too fussy when it comes to balms but at the moment my favourite are the EOS ones.

Hallelujah Hair Oil

I usually shower in the evening, but on days I know I’m going to be showering the next morning, I love applying this. Not only does it really moisturise my hair and leave it looking and feeling super healthy, it also contains plenty of essential oils. The scent which comes through the most is lavender which as I’ve already mentioned, is perfect for pre-bedtime relaxation.

I keep all of these things (other than biotin) in my bedside table too! It makes it so much easier to remember. Mine is full of Soap & Glory as well. The hair oil sounds lovely. I’m an evening showerer as well so I might have to try this. I need one of those mirrors in my life x

It really does, doesn’t it?! I love the Soap & Glory scents x

      • September 20, 2018 / 9:05 pm

Soap & Glory is so great. I love the body butter that I have. It smells delicious and is very moisturizing.

  2. September 20, 2018 / 6:56 pm

I’m the very opposite, I used to never like sticking to a skincare routine and by the time it was night, I was already too tired to actually cleanse, mask and moisturize haha. I have shea butter but keep forgetting to actually use it but I do remember it made my skin feel amazingly soft the next morning!

I’m going to have to make a mental note to actually stick to my skincare routine haha – I’ve heard great things of Soap and Glory which I recognized in your first photo, I’ve been meaning to give them a try!

I would be lost without hand cream on my bedside table. I get such dry hands during the day, and it’s like putting on that hand cream before bed is part of my relaxing and winding down process.

I feel the same, especially at this time of year when my hands actually do feel dry! x

I love the idea of keeping products in the bedside table so you don’t forget anything each evening. Soap & Glory products are my favourite and Hand Food is amazing, it smells sooo good! Hallelujah Hair Oil sounds fabulous and it’s perfect that it has lavender in for that added relaxation. Sounds like a wonderful bedtime self-care routine, thanks for sharing Soph! <3 xx

Everyone needs a calming candle by their bedside, right? I love how organised you are. My bedside table is usually a riot and I accumulate so much nooks and crannies over the week and it looks really messy! You’ve inspired me to sort it!

I hate to admit I’m so lazy when it comes to skincare and I’ve never been one to follow a skincare routine for more than a few weeks before forgetting to do it again! I think I definitely need to take a leaf out of your book and keep some products in my bedside table so I remember to apply them especially hand cream seen as it’s getting colder and my hands always get so dry and cracked! Such a good post Soph, thanks for sharing!

Good idea keeping them near your bed I do this with body moisturiser and lip butter. I love Neom candles I had one of their de-stress sets at Xmas and it was excellent.

  12. September 20, 2018 / 9:04 pm

Soph I enjoy lavender scent too, I’m getting it through tea in the morning when I wake up. I too enjoy body butters, especially anything with coconut oil, grapeseed oil, or mango and Shea butter after a nice soothing shower/bath from a long day, it’s one of the best feelings!

    • September 20, 2018 / 9:10 pm

Ooh lavender tea sounds amazing! I totally agree and those all sound like they smell amazing! x

  13. September 20, 2018 / 9:11 pm

This is such a good idea! I’m redoing my bedroom so I’m definitely going to move my nighttime things into my bedroom. I am shocking for not taking make up off before bed just because I get comfy so this is the perfect fix. That hair oil sounds lovely!

  14. September 20, 2018 / 9:17 pm

I can imagine a nice Lavender scented candle would be so nice and relaxing before bed! I have got so many body creams from Christmas, literally loads! I need to start getting through them too so maybe I will start applying one every night before bed! The same with hand cream! I have never tried a EOS lip balm but I need to get on it! Great post xx

    • September 20, 2018 / 9:19 pm

It’s one of my favourites! Haha I’m glad it’s not just me that doesn’t ever seem to get through them! Definitely try EOS if you get the chance, they’re gorgeous! x

  15. September 20, 2018 / 9:18 pm

I’m completely the same! Body butter and hand cream are bedside neccessities as it helps me get through the mountains of body lotions I own and making sure my skin doesn’t feel dry before bed and when I wake up. Lovely post!
    Sarah x

    • September 20, 2018 / 9:29 pm

  18. September 21, 2018 / 12:25 pm

I usually have my hand cream or my critical oil on my bedside table and sometimes some spray too. But I don’t like too much on them. I haven’t tried the soap and glory one before, but I hear great things. I might have to try them. Thanks for sharing!

I feel your struggle with all the body lotions!

  27. September 22, 2018 / 8:36 pm

Ohhh good old soap and glory!!
Does biotin and supplements in general make the difference? I never ever tried them because I keep thinking it’s just a placebo sort of thing. Like those gummy bears all over the instagram, I wonder if they are genuine. Anyway, thanks for sharing your evening routine with us x

I totally get what you mean, I was sceptical at first but since taking the biotin I’ve genuinely noticed that my nails grow so much faster and are stronger. It’s difficult to say whether they’ve had an effect on my hair because I use so many products to keep it healthy! x

  28. September 22, 2018 / 10:12 pm

Cannot live without Hand Food and Righteous Butter, such good products!

Having a list is a great way to work with your skincare routine. I like to line mine up in order XD. I love candles – especially when it has a calming scent. I haven’t taken Biotin tablets before but I’ve been looking into supplements lately. Lip butter is good for the soul! It’s great with keeping your lips moist throughout the night. Thanks for sharing these products!
