If we’re connected on social media then you’ll know how excited I was when Cult Beauty announced a goodie bag in celebration of their 10th birthday. After half-heartedly telling myself off for even considering spending £170 on beauty products that I don’t need in order to qualify for it, I caved. The goodie bag is like no other. It’s not filled with sample sizes or products that they just can’t shift, it’s 10 of the most sought-after products right now. Without further ado, here’s the haul; my picks and the contents of the goodie bag!
What I Bought
Purely a restock of one of my favourite moisturiser primer duos. I added this to my bag to get me above the spending threshold. I use this most mornings and you can never have too many back-up products!
Who doesn’t love a luxury candle? On an ordinary day, I’d struggle to justify £16 for a candle of this size. I purchased it over exam season however, in the hope that it would genuinely calm me, and you know what? You get what you pay for because it did. If anyone is going through a stressful period, or even just likes a good excuse to relax, then this is perfect. The best way I can describe the scent of it is Spa-like, with hints of lavender. I’ve only actually burned this for a few minutes because the scent is so strong that it spreads without even being lit, so I think that I’ll be enjoying it from my nightstand for a while.
I like to buy candles in bulk to try out different scents, so I also picked up the Real Luxury version. I find that this actually smells very similar to the Tranquillity candle, only a little more heavy on the lavender. My Mum’s always loved the stuff so I’ll probably be gifting this to her!
Optiat is a new brand for me, but one which I was excited to try! I bought a scrub for myself and another for a gift. I was expecting these to smell like vanilla, but they literally smell like freshly ground coffee- a perfect in-shower wake up!
The Ordinary has received a lot of hype for a number of months now, and despite being underwhelmed by their foundation (I loved it when I first tried it but for some reason, I’ve completely gone off it) I’ve been really wanting to try out some of their skincare.
Although this is a gift, I’m a huge NYX fan, and I also think that colour correcting products are definitely worth using. I regularly use the Collection colour correcting concealer under my eyes.
My friend gave me a sample version of this so long ago and it’s still going strong! Although I still have a lot of use left, I thought that I’d treat myself to the full version. I now have both an every-day and a travel version!
A beauty haul wouldn’t be luxury without some Charlotte Tilbury. I’ve owned the Pillow Talk lip pencil for ages now, so this purchase was long overdue! I would usually prefer to buy new luxury lipsticks or foundations in store so that I’m able to colour match, but I knew that this one would be a safe bet.
Another gift purchase, but this one I really wish I’d have bought two of. Although I think that £10 is pretty pricey for a bath bomb, this smells divine and I’m genuinely debating just keeping it for myself…
The CoQ-10 toner is featured in Lydia Elise Millen‘s Cult beauty box; her picks for glowing skin. Although I love my Elemis, I’ve been on the lookout for a new favourite toner and Lydia’s skin is so gorgeous that I knew I needed to try at least one of her Cult favourites.
The Goodie Bag
Another Ordinary product, I’m new to using acids on my skin but I love serums and can’t wait to see how I get on with this!
I’m so excited about this one. I’ve been lusting over Becca products for years, and this is the perfect start to my collection.
This is a product that is almost over hyped, although I’m excited to use it, I do really hope that my expectations aren’t so high that they’ll be let down.
I got a sample size of this cleanser in my M&S beauty advent calendar, and its gorgeous. Its so gentle on the skin and it smells exactly like a spa product, I was so excited to get a full size version and begin using it regularly.
I’ve never owned any Lime Crime products until now, and this is the perfect red. I love that this was part of the goodie bag because its something which I probably wouldn’t ever have ever thought to buy for myself.
I’d never even heard of this before now. The mist claims to be full of natural healing properties which are amazingly beneficial to the skin.
My favourite of them all. This is immediately one of the prettiest palettes I own, and I haven’t even been able to bring myself to use it yet, its just too perfect.
Alongside my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, these highlights have become an instant favourite.
Pens are now the only type of liner I own, but so far, I’ve always stayed in my comfort zone with the L’Oreal Superliner. I was excited to see how the ZOEVA version matches up, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. Although its very similar to the Superliner, I’ve found that the ZOEVA pen is slightly sharper therefore easier to use with regards to finer details. They’re basically the same price too, so I think I’ll be switching to ZOEVA for my future liner purchases.
I can’t believe that as I self professed beauty blogger, I’m about to admit to never owning a Beautyblender. Its true, I love using blenders and have tried my fair share, from Real Techniques to Dior, but never an original Beautyblender. Thanks Cult Beauty for inviting me to the club!
Receiving this purchase through the mail was like a re-run of Christmas day. I love every single thing that I picked up, and will get so much use out of it all. Watch this space for follow up reviews!
Did you manage to get your hands on the Cult Beauty 10th Birthday Goodie bag? What would you have picked up to pass the spending threshold?
