Colorsport is a brand that I haven’t used in a very long time, six years to be precise. I remember it clearly because it was when I transitioned from high-school to sixth-form, which meant actually being allowed to wear makeup. I know right, a pretty big deal. Of course, not being allowed to wear make-up didn’t mean that I didn’t actually wear it. I did have to try and be a little clever about creating the ‘no makeup’ look though. Back then I didn’t really care about my brows other than that they were perfectly plucked. With regards to Colorsport; their mascara was my go to. I used perfectly matched foundation and concealer- low to medium coverage so that you couldn’t really tell I was wearing any, and I regularly used Colorsports 30 Day Mascara, enhanced of course on a daily basis with eyelash curlers and plenty of clear mascara.
Although I stopped using Colorsport quite a while ago, from what I can remember, it wasn’t because I stopped liking the product. I just didn’t really have a need for it once I began wearing full make daily. I was recently sent their new *30 Day Brow Kit and *30 Day Mascara, and was really intrigued to try them again. It was only a few years ago that ‘doing your brows’ wasn’t a thing for us regular people. Now, its a completely different story and a majority of us view it as an essential part of our make-up routine, I for one very rarely leave my house with naked brows, so I was particularly looking forward to trying Colorsport’s brow kit!
Although I still rarely leave the house without makeup, I love finding beauty hacks to make myself look better without it. There are already some non-makeup beauty products that I like to use, like the Clarins Radiance Booster that I spoke about in my Travel Beauty Must Haves post, so I was intrigued to see if the Colorsport products would make a good addition to my routine.
I personally found the brow kit super easy to use. At first the mixture looks a little too thick. When you begin to brush it through your brows with the spoolie provided, it actually spreads out quite easily. You only have to leave the dye on for two minutes, then wipe it off with a damp cotton pad.
The result definitely isn’t as defined as I like my brows on a day to day basis but the kit does make a marked difference! The kit did nothing to change the colour of my brows but it picked up a few lighter hairs. This resulted in them looking fuller and more defined. I have to admit that I’m far too lazy to regularly add brow dying into my routine. Purely because I know I’ll continue to fill in my brows anyway. However I will definitely keep Colorsport in mind for holidays and particular times that I know I’ll be without makeup. The set would also be perfect for people who keep their brows natural but would like them to look a little fuller.
I’ll begin on a low note, by saying that I don’t like my natural lashes at all. They’re pretty short and there aren’t enough of them. I wear false lashes daily and mascara religiously, so it would have taken nothing short of a miracle for me to have been converted by the 30 Day Kit.
I tried my best, but didn’t get on nearly as well with the mascara as I did the brow kit. Although it was still a relatively simple process, I struggled to get the dye to fully coat my lashes. Once I had, it made only the slightest difference. In Colorsport’s defense, I already have quite dark lashes. I thought that there may be some lighter ones that it could draw out but that wasn’t the case. You may get on better with this kit if you naturally have light eyelashes. In hindsight, I’m not so sure whether it made a massive difference to my lashes when I used it in high-school.
In summary, I’ll definitely be reaching for the brow kit again. I’m going to Greece soon so will definitely top up the dye before I go! Have you tried any 30 Day Kits like these ones? How did you get on?
