10 Posts From 2018 To Inspire You

I’ve always found so much enjoyment in relating to and being inspired by other blogs. Before my own had even become a concept, I found myself filling my free time with beauty reviews and travel content. With so many amazing blogs and therefore posts, it can be difficult to keep up and make sure you’re not missing out on the best quality content. Here’s a roundup of 10 of my favourite blog posts from 2018, and why they’ll inspire you too.

HANNAH GALE
7 Tips For Shooting Outfit Photos For Instagram

If one of your upcoming resolutions is to work on your Instagram game, then this post is for you. Who better to take Insta photography tips from than Hannah Gale herself? This isn’t one of those posts that lures you in with empty promises and then tells you nothing new. It’s not one full of complicated presets or an expensive shopping list of things you need either. It really is just 7 straightforward tips that can be adopted by anyone.

SHE TALKS GLAM
Musings on Self-Confidence (and Her Twin Sister Self-Doubt)

Saida’s blog is full of witty and interesting content. With a whole category dedicated to self-confidence, it’s the place to go if you’re in need of a little reassurance that you’re not the only one struggling with it. This post is scarily relatable and discusses ways of improving self-confidence both gently and realistically.

SCARLETT LONDON
Am I a Bad Friend?

We’ve all been through friendship breakups or less dramatic periods of just growing apart. When we lose friends its natural to question what we did wrong, and it can be difficult not to blame ourselves. If you relate to this even a little, then Scarlett’s honest discussion on the topic is something that you’ll benefit from. This post takes guilt out of the equation and will inspire you to cut off any deadwood friendships going into the new year.

ESTHER WYSE
Everything Fake About My Instagram

If you don’t follow Esther’s Instagram, then you’re missing out. If her aspirational feed and lovely personality aren’t enough, this posts honest discussion about everything fake behind some of her 2018 shots will really lift your mood. Other creators will find this hilariously relatable, and if you’re not one, then its just a fun glimpse into some of the crazy things some of us do for the ‘gram.

IN THE FROW
Why We Shouldn’t Be Afraid to Praise Ourselves

In The Frow is one of the first blogs I discovered and the only of these that I still avidly follow. Every single one of her posts and YouTube videos is different and she’s held my interest for years. Although best known for her fashion content, her lifestyle posts and honest discussions are my favourite and this one is no exception.

BETH SANDLAND
What if University Isn’t the Best Three Years of Your Life?

Beth has a way with words that is enviable. I find her lifestyle discussions incredibly relatable and appreciate her say-it-as-it-is manner. Having been through a less than usual (and less than enjoyable) University experience myself, I can fully recommend this post to you if you also feel let down or that others had it better.

KELLY PRINCE WRITES Sometimes I Feel Like I’m Missing the Mark

I discovered Kelly on Instagram, and although I’ve only had the time to check out her blog a couple of times, this post immediately became a favourite. It’s reassurance to anyone who feels like they haven’t achieved what they’d planned to by now and a reminder that the grass isn’t always greener.

NEW GIRL IN TOON
Where to Find the Best Hot Chocolate in the North East

This pick may look a little out of place in a sea of lifestyle posts, especially considering I’m not from the North East. Chloe had been carrying out research and therefore inadvertently teasing me with delicious looking hot chocolate Instagram content for a while. By the time she published this post, I was emotionally invested and not at all disappointed. At this time of year especially, it’s definitely an inspirational post; just in a different sense of the word. It features a piece on Hotel Chocolat too so is handy even for those who don’t live or visit the North East.

FOREVER AMBER
Here’s Why Your Blog Isn’t Successful

A brutally honest discussion on why your blog isn’t successful. This post is so inspiring and will really make you reconsider your approach to blogging and maybe even the industry in general. It isn’t full of empty promises or click-bait that won’t get you anywhere, it’s hard-hitting and is forceful enough to either make you or break you.

HELLO BEXA
Autumn Box Swap with Soph Hearts

Hello Bexa is one of the most positive and supportive bloggers I know. Of course I had to include our collaboration! Reading and enjoying so many of her previous collaborative posts directly inspired me to reach out to her and set this one up. It’s all about self-care so hopefully its also inspiring in its own right too.

I absolutely love it when people share others work, supporting others bloggers is something I love to do, even if its just engagement, or sending them a quick message to let them know how much I’m loving their work.

In this post, I’m instantly drawn to Hannah Gales post, along with Forever Amber’s and I can’t wait to read more. Thanks for sharing Soph!

The thing I love about the blogging community is that we inspire each other in so many ways. I love these posts that you’ve shared! So many of them are very relatable and overall helpful. Oh man, I can feel the post about being a bad friend. At the end of the day, friendship is a two-way street. I’m still looking for a delicious hot chocolate place in the states, hehe. Thanks for sharing these inspirational posts!

I am SO glad I stumbled across this post, there are so many posts on this list I need to read. The friendship one in particular is one I need to read today, I think your early twenties are definitely the time when you start questioning the people you’re surrounding yourself with and also second guessing yourself. And also, I’m always up for reading about hot chocolates!

One of my aims this year is to read more blogs so this really helped with that!! Bexa is definitely one of my favourite bloggers with how supportive she is and all her content is always amazing!! I loved the Scarlett London post when it came out too because what she said really resonated with me and reassured me about friendships and contact. I’ll definitely be checking out Chloe’s post though because those hot chocolates look heavenly!
