Anyone who views their blog as a business will know the importance of tracking statistics. Looking back at popular posts and where traffic is coming from is incredibly helpful and I also find it interesting. I wrote a similar round-up post last year, summarising my most popular posts of 2018, so I thought I’d take some time, again, to look over my top 5 blog topics. This time of 2019.
This roundup may introduce you to some of my most-read posts if you missed them yourself. Hopefully, it will also give you some ideas on blog topics if you require a little inspiration.
As a self-professed technophobe, I’m a blogger who often reads ‘blogger help’ articles. When the Pipdig scandal occurred earlier this year, I did enough research to finally write my own. Technical blog and traffic tips are always going to be helpful blog topics, provided you actually know your stuff. With so many bloggers around, there are bound to be a few looking for help and advice from time to time.
I was so pleased with my Pipdig theme while it lasted. When something like this happens though, the best thing to do is let yourself be frustrated for a little while, then to move forward and learn a lesson. This article is about how I ended up with a brand new theme that I love (and still have) for a fraction of a Pipdig price.
As a beauty and lifestyle blogger, one of my blog topic niches is makeup and skincare. Although I write a lot of product-specific reviews and recommendations, it’s hardly surprising that a round-up of the best nudes has proven popular. With the rise of Instagram as a platform and the demand for bite-sized information, when one post can recommend a few great products I suppose it saves readers time compared to full reviews.
I’m so pleased that this post is in my top 5. Working with Boots on such a fun and fitting campaign was definitely a pinch-me moment and is a firm personal highlight. I received a pitch email very shortly after coming back from Paris, so it felt like fate had been at work.
Plus, everyone loves a giveaway.
2019 was the year I fell in love with Paris. J’aime Paris.
It’s always been on my travel bucket list, but never high enough up. We actually found ourselves there after a missed flight to Prague but alls well that ends well. We packed so many wonderful locations and restaurants into our short city break. I hoped it would be helpful to share these in the form of first-timer recommendations and money-saving tips.
I spent a lot of the year working on making living more responsibly and sustainably. After making a whole load of swaps during an attempted plastic-free month, I wanted to share my findings. Really, this post is an attempt to encourage people to make planet-friendly swaps but without judgement.
I predict that sustainability as a blog topic will ever increase in demand. People are waking up to the issues we’re causing, and they care. With more awareness being raised by documentaries and devastating natural occurrences, more change hopefully will come.
To join me in donating to help aid the devastation caused by Australias Bush Fires, head to WWF’s Australian Wildlife & Nature Recovery Fund. They accept one-off as well as monthly donations. No amount is too small, and all add up to help save wildlife and to restore forests, their homes.
WHICH TOPICS ARE MOST POPULAR?
Despite the calls of professionals for niching down your blog and brand, I love that I can speak about almost anything in this space. I feel as though these top 5 show that lifestyle content is still in demand. These posts demonstrate that beauty, blogging, sustainability, lifestyle, and travel topics are being read. So take inspiration where you can, and from those topics which fit your own brand, but write about things that you’re interested in. Content is always better that way.
