Hi and welcome to Soph Hearts, my new and improved site! It’s coming up to a year since I began my journey as a blogger and I’ve loved every second (okay, well almost). Now that I’ve established my online space a little better and know that blogging is something I really enjoy, it was definitely time to renovate. I thought that I’d share a short but sweet update on life and the blog and also invite you to enter a little giveaway! Sophie Hearts (.net) has re-branded to Soph Hearts (.com) and I’ve managed to design a layout that I truly love. I hope that you’ll find the new site super user-friendly and enjoy navigating through it.
I believe in the importance of culture and of new experiences. When I travel to new places, I’m passionate about exploring their individuality. I look forward to finding unfamiliar restaurants and taking in details of streets I’ve never seen before. To me, the thought of visiting somewhere new only to spend my time in a chain restaurant eating off of a menu I already know from home just reeks of wasted opportunity.
Highlights; City breaks and pretty cakes..
June is similar to a Wednesday, a hump-month if you will. Although I despise thinking of time in this way, it’s so shocking that we’re already over the hump and into the second half of the year. Despite Junes consistent downfall in the form of particularly aggressive hay fever, it was full of highlights.
Men are notoriously difficult to buy for, and with Father’s Day fast approaching I thought I’d simplify the process with my Father’s Day gift picks. My Dad has spent the best part of his life living with three girls, so he definitely deserves a day of appreciation. What better way to show it than with some thoughtful gifts, a few cups of coffee and a few glasses of red.
Who’d have thought that four years after securing my two A-grade Art A-Levels, I’d reach heights of using a card crafting kit? Ha, no but seriously, although my day job definitely doesn’t utilise my arguable talent, I love content creating and I love crafting. Although the two are distinct, I view them in a similar way; I want both to be enjoyed, by both myself and others. Whether my online content is enjoyed by a few Instagram followers or my home crafting (be it in the form of making cards or undertaking DIY projects: no matter how small those may be) is enjoyed by a few friends and family, I find that the enjoyment is what makes it worthwhile.
Hello Bexa did an A-Z get to know me tag like this quite a while ago, and since then its stuck in the back of my mind as such a cute little post idea! I hope you enjoy getting to know me a little better and I’d love to see your versions if you’ve already done a similar post or now want to do your own!
One of my new year resolutions was to be more kind. I know, its pretty vague… what does being more kind even mean? I wanted to show kindness in an attainable way, no grand (hugely time and money consuming) gestures, just a little more kindness throughout the day to make a more positive impact. The following is a list of the things that I’ve been doing for the past couple of months, and will continue to do. I would 100% recommend introducing proactive ways of showing more kindness to anyone who is looking to set themselves little life challenges or to generally improve on themselves. Doing so involves such little effort but its super rewarding. These tips are all really small and easy ways of showing kindness, promise.
