This Autumn we’ve been really lucky with the weather; during the day it’s been bright, sunny and much warmer than we all expected. I am though, dreading the nights inevitably drawing in and gradually forcing me into driving both to and from work in darkness. In the spirit of finding a silver lining, I admit that I’ll take any excuse to get cosy; in Autumn there are plenty of them. September has been the first month which I haven’t written a monthly blog highlights for. If I’m being honest it’s because I just didn’t have enough specific highlights. I certainly wasn’t going to make any up in an attempt to pad out a post, either. Instead, I thought I’d reflect on how I did spend September and why I’m not pressuring myself to post for the sake of a schedule.
Time is more precious than almost anything else, it’s something most of us wish we had more of. We say that we need more hours in the day to get things done and we long for more time spent doing things we love with the people we love. Recently I’ve been considering how I spend my time. Finding a perfect balance between work and play sometimes feels impossible but I’m determined to stop wishing away my work days and only enjoying a certain percentage of my life.
It’s been just over a year since I plucked up enough courage to start my very own blog. What began as my very own creative project soon turned into something bigger; I grew a sense of belonging within the community and began receiving more opportunities to work with amazing brands. It still baffles, scares and excites me in equal measure that so many people seem to be interested in little old me; the stories that I have to tell and the opinions that I share. Fear of failure and lack of confidence held me back from blogging for a long time, but after a year of Sophie Hearts, now Soph Hearts the only thing I regret is not establishing myself sooner. I’ve learned a lot of lessons in the past year so what better place to share them than right here?
About The Brand
TreatBox is a subscription box service with a difference. Not only do they offer subscription boxes which they describe as a hug in a box, they also offer gift TreatBoxes. The individual GiftBoxes can be customised, so you can select how many and which items you’d like included. Basically the brand is all about both self care and the care of others. The boxes fit through the letterbox so are super convenient but also filled with lovely products.
Hi and welcome to Soph Hearts, my new and improved site! It’s coming up to a year since I began my journey as a blogger and I’ve loved every second (okay, well almost). Now that I’ve established my online space a little better and know that blogging is something I really enjoy, it was definitely time to renovate. I thought that I’d share a short but sweet update on life and the blog and also invite you to enter a little giveaway! Sophie Hearts (.net) has re-branded to Soph Hearts (.com) and I’ve managed to design a layout that I truly love. I hope that you’ll find the new site super user-friendly and enjoy navigating through it.
I believe in the importance of culture and of new experiences. When I travel to new places, I’m passionate about exploring their individuality. I look forward to finding unfamiliar restaurants and taking in details of streets I’ve never seen before. To me, the thought of visiting somewhere new only to spend my time in a chain restaurant eating off of a menu I already know from home just reeks of wasted opportunity.
Highlights; City breaks and pretty cakes..
June is similar to a Wednesday, a hump-month if you will. Although I despise thinking of time in this way, it’s so shocking that we’re already over the hump and into the second half of the year. Despite Junes consistent downfall in the form of particularly aggressive hay fever, it was full of highlights.
