Clinique has always been one of my favourite skincare brands. Their Bonus Time has been running for years and I’ve been taking advantage of it for that long too. If you haven’t heard of the beauty event yet or dabbled much with their products, don’t worry. This post should tell you everything you need to know.
CLINIQUE SKINCARE STAPLES
Bonus Time is only really relevant if you like Clinique products enough to purchase them in the first place. Obviously, I do, and so to start, I thought I’d recommend three of my favourites.
LIQUID FACIAL SOAP | £17.50
I recently featured the Clinique liquid facial soap in my high-end cleansers to watch post. I won’t go into it again here in too much detail, but it’s been a staple in my skincare drawer for years. It’s part of a 3-step routine but I tend to buy it as a stand-alone product. Although, I do also rate their 3-step toner.
If you’re in the market for a new cleanser and haven’t tried this before, I can’t recommend it enough. I use the mild version, but if you visit their counter to get a skin evaluation, they’ll recommend the right one for you.
This is my favourite moisturiser of all time. Its gel consistency is refreshing and the product sinks into the skin immediately. I use it regularly because I love the way it makes my skin look. Its hydrating benefits leave it looking more plump and dewy.
If it’s a little out of your budget for everyday use though, it is one of those highly effective products that you can use as and when you need it. Honestly, it’s basically a miracle worker for dehydrated skin.
I sometimes use this as a pre-moisturiser when I’m feeling a little bougie. Honestly, you probably don’t need this as well as the 72 hour and I would recommend that more highly, but it is great in its own right.
It makes a really beneficial skincare step before applying cream moisturiser or night cream.
BONUS TIME: WHAT IS IT?
So onto the good stuff: How to get your hands on six free miniature Clinique products.
Bonus Time seems to run regularly throughout the year. They alternate where they’re offering it, so I’ve noticed it popping up at concessions such as House of Fraser and Debenhams. I recently got mine at Boots which is where I prefer to shop (hello advantage points- I’m currently at around £70). However, it’s just moved over to John Lewis which is where you can find it right now.
Clinique Bonus Time is a scheme in which you receive a six-piece gift with two qualifying purchases (one to be skincare). Subject to availability, you can pick your own six from a choice of nine (but unfortunately no duplicates). Most of the freebies are miniatures, but the choices tend to feature lipsticks and a blush which obviously both last really well.
WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT?
Now, the skincare hoarder in me used to purchase two Clinique products for the freebies regardless of whether or not I needed them (because obviously, I didn’t already have enough product). The value of the freebies doesn’t justify the £50+ you’re going to have to drop in order to make a qualifying purchase. Unless of course, you need something. It does, however, provide a great incentive to buy during the Bonus Times. As I mentioned, they run them through different stores so when I have needed a Clinique top up, I’ve never had to wait too long for another to roll around.
The miniatures on offer are amazing in order to trial different products properly. Last time I asked for a sample, I was given a sachet which allowed one use- so these miniatures last a couple of weeks, enough to form a proper impression. They also make fantastic travel products. I store the cleansers and moisturises for holidays so that I don’t have to take full products or decant.
Finally, if I’ve sold you on Bonus Time (I’m acutely aware that this sounds like a sponsored post, but to be clear, it isn’t, I just really rate the brand and offer), then make sure you choose wisely. Naturally, try out the products that appeal to you, but also keep in mind that the lipsticks and bronzer will last you much longer than the miniature skincare.
If you have any other Clinique recommendations, be sure to send them my way!
