Hey Honey.. A Honey Skincare Spotlight: Nuxe Rêve de Miel

  • Save

French beauty brand, Nuxe, is celebrating 25 years of Rêve de Miel. As someone who is frequently impressed by Nuxe as a brand and who also happens to love honey, I felt that now was a fitting time to introduce this particular line of honey skincare.

Rêve de Miel, by the way, very aptly translates to Honey Dream.

It feels like only last week that I reviewed Nuxe’s Insta-Masques, but in fact, it’s only been a few months. Even more recently, I spoke about my love for honey scents in an empties roundup. Today, I’m kind of merging these two themes by recommending products from one of my favourite honey skincare lines.

Honey is a fantastic skincare ingredient as its full of antioxidants and is also naturally moisturising and soothing. For that reason, the entire Rêve de Miel collection provides these benefits as well as being designed to nourish the skin. The range is perfect for this time of year when cold skin can very easily become dry and irritated. Not only do the products feel incredible, but they smell it too.

I endorse Nuxe as a brand for their ethical stance, exhibited perfectly in their recent limited edition launch. To celebrate 25 years of Rêve de Miel they have created a Respect Nature Collector Edition of their honey lip balm. It honours the brands commitment to nature and the protection of bees. I’m sure you’ve gathered that I have very positive things to say about the line generally, but here are the specific products that I really rate.

The star of this post and the reason for its very existence. Happy 25th-anniversary Rêve de Miel.

As a child with absolutely no chapstick standard (remember those horrid Smackers ones that we used to love?!) I’ve grown fussier year by year. Now, my go-to is EOS and I only really deviate from it for something special. Well, I can assure you that this qualifies as special.

From the beautiful amber glass packaging to the deliciously scented and nourishing balm, it ticks all of the boxes for me.

BODY BALM | £22.50

I love my luxury beauty, but body balms are probably one of the things I’m least likely to invest in. You can get great body creams for under a fiver, right? But after trying this, I must admit that none of the more affordable ones I’ve tried (and that’s several) come close to this.

The best word I can think of to describe its texture is silky. Instantly absorbing and leaving the skin feeling absolutely incredible, it’s essentially the body version of the Ultra Comforting Face Balm which I’ll come to in a moment. The scent is incredible, yet subtle, and I’m completely in love with the product.

The closest similarity I can draw between this and products I’ve used before are Elizabeth Arden’s 8 Hour Cream or Burts Bee’s cuticle balm. In all honesty, it doesn’t bear a striking resemblance to either, but they’re the closest matches I can think of. Basically, it’s a multi-purpose balm that does works on everything from itchy skin to softening cuticles.

Considering the price, I don’t rate this quite as highly as the rest of the range. I’ve included it though, as it’s a super handy, multi-purpose product that I like to keep in my bag.

I appreciate the importance of body scrubs, but I still find using them a bit of a chore. I’ve never fully gotten around to incorporating them into my beauty routine, and as such, I use one as and when I actually remember to.

Saying that, this one is fantastic. Before investing in any exfoliating products I check that micro-plastics don’t feature. Unsurprisingly, the ethical brand that is Nuxe formulate their scrub with sugar crystals and rice grains. The result is a gentle removal of dead skin cells which has left my legs happier than they’ve been in a while.

Ultra comforting would be correct. For such a rich balm, I was surprised to find that it so effortlessly absorbs into the skin, leaving it instantly hydrated and incredibly.. comfortable.

Comfortable may seem like an odd adjective to describe the effects of a skincare product. However, that’s to say that there’s no sticky residue that we often associate with such effective creams. In fact, there’s no residue at all. I prefer to use this within my nighttime routine to allow it to work its magic as well as possible. The texture and the subtle honey scent make it one of the most luxurious daily moisturisers I’ve used.

As part of their October French Pharmacy promotion, Escentual currently have a third off of Nuxe Rêve de Miel. If you want to up your dose of honey skincare, then you have the rest of the day and tomorrow to take advantage of the saving.

I love the sound of the repairing balm, definitely something my skin would appreciate. I love reve de miel lip balm, it’s been my favourite for about 5/6 years now. It’s honestly the only thing I’ve ever used that genuinely helps my lips in winter. I never knew it translates to Honey Dream though, that’s adorable x

Everything sounds so good, I’ve never tried anything from this brand before – I feel like I need to! The honey lip balm sounds so good, I’m a big fan of skincare products with honey anyway, a lot down to how it smells too! The packaging is so pretty as well though, looks so luxurious.

Nuxe seems like such a luxurious brand, I always see it in Marks and Spencers. Although I’ve never actually tried the brand because they currently are not cruelty free, the lip balm sounds divine!

It’s a shame that they’re not CF but I guess with honey as an ingredient it’s kind of impossible to label themselves as such. I really do love the range! x
