Korean Beauty : Glowing Skin with Klairs

Korean Beauty

Despite my status as a self-confessed skincare junkie, I’ve been rather slack in my approach to one of this year’s biggest skincare hypes; Korean beauty. K-Beauty emphasises the importance of skincare over make-up products, which is an approach that I wholeheartedly agree with. Don’t get me wrong, you know that I love my make-up, but thankfully the high-school version of me has evolved to use it as an enhancement rather than an attempt to cover-up problematic skin. I want perfect skin and the make-up skills of Kim Kardashian’s entire glam team. Too much to ask? Possibly, but I digress. All I know is that the Korean beauty I’ve tried has given me truly glowing skin.

Just over a month ago I added two Korean beauty products from Wishtrend to my skincare regime. I’ve been using both a serum and a multifunction vitamin E mask and have great first impressions of both.

Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

A serum which contains concentrated pure vitamin C, one of it’s biggest selling points is a rejuvenation of the skin. I find that without the help of great products, my skin can appear quite dull, so I was interested to see if this would brighten it up. The serum is super moisturising and has definitely helped to make my skin look healthy and glowing this Summer. For all of its great results, I have two small criticisms. Firstly it has an odd smell, its definitely not make or break and it’s not even that it’s offensive. The best way I can describe it is the smell of clean nappies.. I know, strange. The second critique is it’s texture, which is, to put it bluntly, very sticky. I easily combatted this by layering a gel moisturiser after application and so didn’t find this too much of an issue, but thought that it was worth a mention.

Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask

The mask has a much more pleasant, sweet smell. It took me a while to put my finger on it but it reminds me of lychee. This product also has a strange texture, but in quite a pleasant way. It’s unlike any other skincare I’ve used and is almost jelly-like in the texture but melts really well into the skin. This is another very moisturising product and together these two have successfully combatted my dehydrated skin.

The Korean Beauty Verdict

I’ve been using both of these products for a matter of weeks. After removing my make-up, cleansing and toning, I apply the serum, then the mask and I complete the regime with a gel moisturiser to combat the stickiness. I’ve been religiously using these products in the evening and have used them on various mornings too. It should be pretty clear that the combination has had a noticeably positive effect on my skin, leaving it super hydrated and therefore looking brighter and healthier. I know that there are so many K-beauty products on the market at the minute and I can’t wait to try out more. I will, of course, keep you updated with my favourites, please let me know yours in the comments!

I saw some Instagram reviews about the Freshly Juiced Klairs products but they didn’t really go into any detail. I’ve been wondering about them so your review is great timing! I’ve only tried two Korean beauty products before but been very impressed with both. One was a foot peel mask and the other was Wishtrend’s Mandelic Acid Water which is super gentle and I’m still using. Your review has reminded me to head over to Wishtrend for another browse, haha, thank you for sharing! xx

The vitamin drop sounds amazing that it’s concentrated pure vitamin C. That must be so good for the skin! It’s a shame about the stickiness and the fresh nappy smell, how odd, ha ha. Both products sound perfect for this hot weather as they are so hydrating. I’m yet to try any Korean beauty products but your review has got me interested to check them out. Thanks for sharing Soph! ? xx

It’s so nice to read another review on Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask as I did a review on it as well. I really loved the mask and how it makes my skin look. I haven’t tried the serum but I think I definitely need to. x

Ooh I tried a few bits from Wishtrend a few months back and I totally agree that the texture of them was quite odd! I still religiously use one of the products now so they do definitely have some fabulous benefits. Korean beauty really seems to be up and coming over here and I’m looking forward to see what else pops up on the market, I guess the textures are something we’ll have to get used to!?

This was a great review of these two products! I hadn’t heard of these but they look like really good quality products, I definitely need to invest in some good skincare products to try and make my skin look more fresh and glowy as I don’t wear makeup for work and I hate my skin looking so dull!

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it! I’ve been trying to wear less make up to give my skin a break and these have definitely helped! I love a good serum and would say that that’s the product that’s made the most difference! x

The Korean beauty trend has gone right over my head to be honest but I’ve seen so many people using, loving and raving about them. I have spotted a few bits in TK Maxx so I may have to give them a try!

I keep seeing this brand everywhere but still haven’t tried anything. I love their approach to ingredients. From what I’ve seen, a lot of their products seem to have a good percentage of active ingredients. Shame about the texture but I’m glad you managed to make it work! x

Korean beauty is great because they have so many skin-loving ingredients to help nourish your skin. I’ve heard of Klairs but haven’t tried it before. The vitamin drop sounds great – especially with summer being out and all. I never knew how important masks are. Glad you enjoyed these two products! Hope you’ll continue to enjoy using them!
