I’ve always had a love of skincare and have been wanting to share my whole routine for a while now. Despite sharing snippets of products via reviews or over on Instagram, there’s something so satisfying about being content in a whole routine. Finding products that work individually as well as successfully complimenting each other is something that takes time, but I’m confident that I’ve managed it. My morning routine is simpler than it’s evening counterpart as I tend to be more limited on time, so I felt it fitting to share first.
Skincare is obviously something that works best when tailored to you. My own skin is combination- leaning towards dry, so many of the things I use work for a few skin types. At this time of year in particular, I do gravitate towards more gentle and moisturising products, particularly in the mornings when harsh makeup removal just isn’t necessary. I’ve recently switched up my skincare in preparation for the colder months, so my routine features a couple of new faces but also some old favourites. So here are the products I use, in the order that I use them!
You may already know of my love for Clinique, whose skincare has been my ‘safe-bet’ for about five years now. No matter how much I enjoy using new products, I always seem to end up running back to the comfort and familiarity of the Clinique liquid facial soap. On trying the Dermalogica special cleansing gel though, I knew that this time was different and I instantly fell in love. It’s no wonder really, as it’s actually very similar to the Clinique and produces the same type of mild lather. This is the perfect face wash for this time of year as it’s so gentle on the skin and leaves it feeling soft and clean. I switched to the Dermalogica just over two months ago but will be alternating the two in the future.
After my morning cleanse, I’ve been using the L’Oreal Fine Flowers toner. This is a familiar product and one which I tend to reintroduce at this time of year as it’s a little more moisturising than my others. My usual preference for the evenings is something a little more harsh (and therefore effective) but in the morning when there are no traces of makeup to wipe away, I find this is perfect for gently preparing my skin for the day.
If I’m not in a manic rush then I like to add in a targeted product to my morning routine. I apply the Navi Pore-Refining Hydro Emulsion by dotting it at each side of my nose where my pores are larger. This has by no means miraculously carried out a disappearing act, but after continued use it has reduced my pores a little. Every little helps, especially when following skincare with foundation that can accentuate the pores.
Lastly I provide my face with the necessary moisture that it needs for this time of year with a face cream and an eye cream. At the minute I dot the Revuele Argon Oil Eye Cream underneath my eyes to inject moisture and leave me looking a little less tired. It’s under £5, so is the cheapest eye cream I’ve ever used and is also one of the best.
To finish the routine, I’m currently using the eye wake face cream. After being featuring their under-eye gel in my January favourites, I knew I wanted to try their new launch. This has a lovely consistency which effortlessly sinks into the skin, leaving it smooth and a lovely canvas for makeup.
