It seems a little odd to be handing out Mother’s Day gift recommendations with all that’s going on at the moment. Ultimately though, many of us won’t be able to take our Mums out for lunch to honour the occasion. For this reason I think it’s important that the gifts we give are extra special.
With only a week until Mother’s Day, here are my 5 failsafe gifting suggestions.
This glass candle from Wax Lyrical is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. With it’s floral detailing and beautiful scent, it’s the perfect substitute for a bunch of flowers, and it will last longer too. At £15 it’s also an absolute bargain.
Keyring’s are cute, practical, and affordable. They also make perfect filler gifts if you want to get her a little something extra to open. I fell in love with this little hedgehog but I’m sure you’d be able to find one with your Mums favourite animal instead to make it extra thoughtful.
At times like these it’s important to support smaller businesses where possible, so I’d definitely recommend a browse on Etsy even if you’re not sold on the keyring.
I’m a strong advocate of little luxuries. High-end perfume certainly delivers and Mon Guerlain is a beautiful, fresh and floral scent that most women would gratefully receive.
An apron is such a thoughtful gift for anyone that loves to cook or to bake. We’re all faced with a lot more time on our hands, and home cooking is a great hobby to invest more time into. If you want to go the extra mile, make up a hamper of ingredients so that she can get started on making her favourite things without having to brave the shops.
Not to mention, an apron is also an important addition to any hygienic kitchen.
I think it’s fair to say that we’re all a little bit stressed at the moment. This Really Relax gift set will calm the recipient as soon as they open it to the scent of the lavender candle. The box also features a sheet mask and bath soak, making it the perfect pamper set.
SHEAMOISTURE HYDRATING BODY WASH & BODY LOTION | £5.49 EACH
I’m a big fan of gifts that act as indulgent essentials. You know that they’ll be used and not just shoved at the back of a drawer, but they’ll also offer a little more luxury than something the recipient may buy themselves. A couple of SheaMoisture products are perfect for right now as I know that my Mum wouldn’t typically spend a tenner on a body wash and lotion for herself. It’s a little extra indulgence and TLC at a time we could all do with some.
You still have a week to order the perfect Mother’s Day gift, so don’t panic yet! If you need a little more inspiration check out last years guide for timeless suggestions.
