Well hello December, you crept up on us a little! As I write this, I can’t quite believe that November is over and another new year is not even a month away. Over Winter I tend to attempt hibernation which means that things can get a little quiet. Don’t worry though, I still have a few highlights to share!
Catch Ups with Friends and Afternoon Tea
At the beginning of the month, I met some lovely new people at a friends birthday celebration in the form of afternoon tea at Congham Hall. Despite being a beautiful place and somewhere I’ve enjoyed many times before, I wasn’t amazed by their Winter selection of sweet treats, and find their Summer version much more impressive. Despite an average culinary experience, the event (which was a surprise for the birthday girl) itself was lovely. Jamie and I had a drink in one of their many lounge type rooms before I had to meet up with the girls, and I’m always impressed by the cosy and welcoming air of the place.
Black Friday Shopping and Christmas Lights
I’m happy to report that I didn’t go crazy this Black Friday. I do like to take advantage of the discounts on Christmas gift items though, and Jamie treated me to a new bag. I actually find in-store shopping quite stressful but really enjoyed being back in Norwich; a place that will always feel like home. There are certain perks to living in the countryside, but the lack of Christmas lights isn’t one of them. Norwich’s tunnel of light and accompanying decorations always ignite a childlike wonder and excitement in me. After getting in the festive spirit I’m definitely ready to dec out my own house this weekend.
Oh you thought I was joking about attempting to hibernate? Throughout November I’ve slept like a baby thanks to my new mattress and duvet set. I won’t go into it in too much depth but if you’d like to know more, you can check out my recent post: Wake Up On The Right Side of The Bed | With Leesa Sleep.
Movies & Food
This month saw the release of the second Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The less than impressed reviews have really shocked me because I much preferred this to the first Fantastic Beasts movie. Without giving too much away, there were much stronger links to the Harry Potter series in this one than the last, and it overall it was much more magical.
Over the colder seasons, I become even less inclined to drag myself to the gym. With Christmas coming, and with it a lot of food and absolutely no guilt, I tried to eat a little healthier throughout November. I’ve discovered Gnaw chocolate and granola bars. They’re made with 35% healthy ingredients, so are a great compromise for chocoholics like me! I’m not great at diets so a healthy balance is definitely the way forward for me.
