For a while now I’ve quite consistently taken vitamins to achieve healthier skin, hair and nails. Despite previously remaining unfaithful to any one brand, my introduction to supplements has without a doubt, had a positive impact.
The idea of promoting beauty from the inside out makes complete and utter sense. When I eat more healthily, force down the recommended amount of water and get my much-needed sleep, I don’t only look better but I feel better too. Over the last few weeks I’ve been trialing Pink Cloud Beauty Co Drinkable Vitamins, including their new FOCUS and RELAX; designed to enhance, as the names suggest, either focus or relaxation.
You can get Pink Cloud Beauty Co products at Superdrug but they’ve kindly given me discount code- ‘SOPHIE15’, for 15% off your first order or for monthly subscriptions via their own website, plus free delivery for life. The range has been created and pre-portioned with just the right quantity of vitamins in each sachet to allow us to take one of all three per day.
BEING MY OWN CHEERLEADER
I’m one of many girls who have grown up not knowing quite how to take a compliment. ‘You like my hair? I only ever put it like this when it’s too greasy to do anything else with’. Some see it as almost uncouth to take a compliment without simultaneously deflecting it away.
Well, I’m not one of them anymore. I think it’s about time we celebrate ourselves as fiercely as we celebrate our family and friends. Fighting tendencies to over-critique our weaknesses and instead, focusing on our strengths (because everyone has both).
I’ve personally always been proud of my work ethic, the fact that I work full-time hours alongside completing my degree and growing the website you’re currently reading. FOCUS has been keeping me on top of my strengths, helping me to avoid succumbing to that mid-afternoon lull or the comforting call of the telly when I get in from the office.
I identify primarily as a lifestyle and beauty blogger, so am familiar with utilising various products to enhance beauty. Utilising products to enhance my focus or levels of relaxation has been a whole new ball game but one which does provide lifestyle benefits.
FOCUS was the launch that I felt I would benefit from the most. It claims to be brain-boosting, containing L-Theanine which aids mental performance and attention.
Despite my excitement for the benefits of FOCUS, I dislike pineapple so was doubtful about whether they would be for me. However, mixed with orange, the flavour is actually quite pleasant, which I’m thankful for because these are the vitamins I’ve benefited from the most. I don’t drink coffee so often find myself mentally lagging throughout the later parts of the day. These have really helped me to avoid that.
BEAUTY is essentially the liquid form of my usual skin, hair and nails supplement tablets. Although the whole range advises mixing the powders to water, I’ve been adding sparkling water to the pink lemonade to get that extra authentic feel. Extra, I know.
I’ve personally not noticed too much of a difference since starting the BEAUTY supplements, which I take as a good thing. As I mentioned, I have already been taking supplements which have particularly improved the strength of my nails and hair. Pink Cloud’s range has maintained the improved standard that I’m now used to.
I have noticed that my skin has been looking more hydrated recently, but that could be attributed to these as well as the extra water I’ve been drinking and my use of Pixi’s Glow Tonic Collection. If you don’t already take any kind of skin, hair and nail supplements then you’re likely to see more dramatic changes than I have. Generally, this type of vitamin has become an essential part of my daily beauty routine.
It’s no secret that I sleep like a baby most nights. However, after being in an office all day and then coming home to work on my own projects for a few more hours, I sometimes have trouble unwinding. RELAX boasts a natural ingredient list containing calm-inducing Lemon Balm, Chamomile & Zinc.
I’ll admit to being slightly sceptical at first about whether something with such a vibrant colour could ever serve to relax me. Credit where it’s due though, it does tend to. I prefer mixing this one with hot water to create a supplement that tastes like a stronger fruit tea. I usually sit down to drink it with a good book (to be honest, I wouldn’t recommend the Sarah Knight one pictured).
I’ve enjoyed using the whole range but have personally found BEAUTY and FOCUS the most beneficial. Of course, everyone will have their own preference based on their lifestyle and needs. If you think any would benefit you, then I’d suggest making a one-time purchase from Superdrug for the sake of convenience (plus the Superdrug points, obviously). However, if you do like them enough to repurchase then don’t forget that you can use code ‘SOPHIE15’ for 15% off your first order or for monthly subscriptions on the Pink Cloud Beauty Co website. Plus you’ll benefit from free delivery for life.
Which of these vitamins do you think would benefit you the most?
