Pixi’s Glow Tonic has proudly boasted cult beauty status for quite some time. In fact, it’s proven so popular that the brand has recently released a whole new collection comprising of a cleanser, serum and moisturisers.
I must admit to the original Glow Tonic toner still being my favourite product of the bunch. However, On-The-Glow is perhaps the only new product that I wouldn’t repurchase myself unless the need for its travel benefit arose. Overall, I’ve been impressed with the whole range and its ability to follow through on its claims. The collection really does make for beautifully moisturised, clear and glowing skin.
GLOW TONIC CLEANSING GEL | £18.00
A hydrating cleansing gel which removes impurities without stripping the skins natural moisture. Its ingredient list boasts glycolic acid, horse chestnut extract, aloe and ginseng, to help refine and brighten. My very first impressions of this were terrible, because, shock horror, it doesn’t lather.
My favourite cleansers by far are ones with simple yet effective ingredients but which come in gel form and lather with water. This just remains a gel until you completely wash it off, which definitely took some getting used to. I have to admit though, that the results definitely make up for the texture. This leaves me looking fresh faced and to be both honest and fitting with the theme: Glowing.
GLOW TONIC | £10.00 (100ml)
Where it all started; THE cult beauty toner. I’ve spoken about my love for Glow Tonic before and even included it in my ‘Best Beauty Buys of 2018’. The product is a bit of a no-brainer really. Despite my (long ago) initial scepticism about whether or not it could live up to both its own claims and the massive hype surrounding it, it does without a doubt.
GLOW TONIC SERUM | £26.00
A serum which claims to soften, refine and restore radiance for smooth and balanced skin. I find this quite a heavy product but not to the extend that it’s uncomfortable. I can’t argue that it does what it claims to. It definitely enhances radiance and similarly to the cleansing gel, I’d rather be impressed by results than by texture. The stickiness is also easily countered with the application of a moisturiser over it and it hasn’t deterred me from using it.
PHENOMINAL GEL | £24.00
A soothing gel which helps to balance and stabilise the pH of the skin. Gel moisturisers are by far my favourite and this one doesn’t let me down. Although it is a little heavier than my usual favourites, it wins points back for being packaged in a tube rather than a jar. Simple pleasures, right? But seriously, it’s just more practical and far more hygienic.
ON-THE-GLOW | £18.00
A play on words. If you hadn’t already guessed, this product is designed for on the go. It’s a travel-friendly solid moisture stick which can be used on the face, lips, body and hair. For hygiene reasons I’d highly recommend swiping this over clean palms before applying where appropriate. Although it’s not a product I’ve found myself going out of my way to use at home, it’s perfect for hand luggage. We already know I’m not a light packer, but I imagine that it’s multi-use makes it a must have for anyone travelling with tight luggage restrictions.
These products together make for almost a whole skincare routine, featured in order of application. Are there any which you’ve tried yet or that you now have your eye on?
