It appears I’ve inadvertently begun a new series. For a while now, every couple of months I’ve discussed the beauty products I’ve emptied and here I am again. I really enjoy both reading and writing these type of posts because I find that they provide a slightly more real insight.
MARC JACOBS DAISY | £57.00
I finally emptied a fragrance! I have so many and get bored so easily that I feel as though they last forever. Does anyone else remember when this was all anyone was wearing? And when I say anyone, I mean all the other girls in your class, obviously. I honestly really like this perfume for how light and fresh it is, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I can get quite sentimental over fragrances and this just reminds me of a time in my life which I’ve moved past.
This is one of my high end holy grail foundations. It’s perfect for full coverage, good-skin-even-on-a-bad-skin-day. This actually applied much better (and much less cakey) when I first bought it, but it does advise you to shake to distribute the oil before you use. Call it a lesson learnt.
REVLON COLOURSTAY MOISTURE STAIN
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t empty this. I have no idea how long it has been in my drawer but considering I couldn’t find any to link to other than e-Bay, I’d say far too long. Don’t worry, it’s in the bin.
I don’t have much to say about this one as it’s just – average. It’s a fair price and does the job without leaving my fine hair greasy but it’s certainly not a ride or die.
SCHWARZKOPF LIQUID SILK | £5.95
This evidences how terrible I am for having multiple products on the go at the same time. I have to admit I slightly prefer this to the John Frieda, but not by much.
I raved about this in a review of 3 hair care products from Fabriah a little while ago. I’ve emptied the entire bottle and still feel the same way. It smells incredible and leaves my hair nourished, what more could you ask for?
I received a travel size of this in the 2018 M&S beauty advent calendar. As someone in my twenties, this is a product that I never would have picked up myself but which I’ll now more than likely purchase. This has a lovely subtle scent and encouraged me to actually pay attention to my neck within my skincare for once. Everyone in the know raves about preventative ageing and whilst thankfully I can’t evidence for or against it yet, I did appreciate it as part of my routine.
CLINIQUE ALL ABOUT EYES | £27.50
I’ve discussed my love for this, specifically in terms of being an Autumn / Winter skincare staple but it really does the job all year around. Although this is one of the more expensive eye creams I use, I’ve tended to only use it in the evenings so it’s lasted really well.
NIVEA ORIGINAL CARE | £1.84
This is not a great product. I can recommend handfuls and handfuls of great moisturising lip butters or balms but this definitely isn’t one of them. The Nivea butters which featured in my last product empties, for example, are far better and only around 20p dearer.
SKINKISSED VITAMIN C SERUM | £24.95
My first impressions of this product were incredible. It left my skin feeling more supple and looking more radiant. The only downfall is its shelf-life. I’m terrible for using beauty products past their recommended shelf-life but this is one that turned. I loved the product so much that there wasn’t an awful lot left to chuck away, but I’d avoid buying this again until I drastically reduce my skincare shelves (you know I’m working on it).
L’OREAL FINE FLOWERS TONER | £3.99
I recently included this in my roundup of great affordable toners and it really is. Although it isn’t quite industrial enough for my evening routine, it’s the perfect gentle toner to freshen your face in the morning. I got the largest size available and I although I emptied it eventually, I’d go for a smaller bottle next time.
Although this is an anti-ageing serum, I’ve been using it on and off for years. It’s one of my preventative products and honestly brags a multitude of other benefits too.
