SKN-RG’s ethos is one which I can fully get behind: visible proven results via clean beauty. Their Evolution Alpha serum launches on Monday 1st April, so I’m here to give you a weeks notice in case you wanted to be first in line!
SKN-RG | The Brand
SKN-RG ingredients are a level up from natural, with all products bragging clean beauty status. That means no known toxins or ingredients that have been linked to harmful health effects are in the formula. Their products are also Vegan Society and Soil Association organic approved and Leaping Bunny Cruelty-Free certified. You have to admit, that’s impressive.
Although I’m not vegan myself, I follow a few brilliant vegan bloggers like the lovely Glow Steady and definitely see it as a bonus when it comes to beauty.
Quanta technology uses light and sound to supercharge herbal extracts. This turns product into energy in order to overcome signs of fatigue, stress and ageing. SKN-RG = SKIN ENERGY.
The Product | Evolution Alpha Serum
Designed to prevent photo ageing, reduce dark circles and pigmentation and provide a lifting experience, it promises a lot. It also claims to harness the natural properties of plankton to shield skin from harmful blue light UVA and UVB rays. What I’m perhaps most impressed by though is the claim that it encapsulates pollutants, entrapping them rather than absorbing them into the skin. This allows them to simply be washed away at the end of the day, reducing the chance of breakouts.
The serum is a concentrated spa formula so SKN-RG recommends that a little goes a long way. I’ve tried applying it to both dry and damp skin and like Lisa, I prefer the latter. The serum sinks into the skin pretty quickly so the little extra moisture just allows for a more even coverage. I keep it in the bathroom instead of on my dresser and apply almost immediately after washing my face with NEEK cleanser.
Unfortunately, there’s no way I can speak for whether the product really has shielded me from pollutants and harmful blue light. I can, however, report that I’m impressed by what changes I have picked up on. The product provides my skin with a natural soft focus appearance, almost like a very subtle real-life filter. It also appears to brighten and applied before moisturiser, provides a lovely base for makeup.
The Verdict
The serum will be launched at an introductory offer of £65 instead of the usual £75 for 15ml. That seems a little steep, but its worth remembering that this is an advanced formula in a spa concentration. A little really does go a long way. The price also reflects the brands’ various awards, approvals, certifications and use of advanced technology within skincare. I’m extremely torn over whether I’ll be repurchasing this as two of the, arguably, most impressive benefits aren’t measurable outside of a lab. I do trust the benefits, but visibly seeing them would allow me to justify the price point a little easier.

Sounds great! I love skin care and always love to try something new. I use serum every day so I’ll keep this brand on my mind.
March 28, 2019 at 6:44 pmI’m so impressed by all of it’s benefits- I hope you like it if you get your hands on it! x
March 28, 2019 at 9:37 pmYay for their products being Vegan – I’m personally not a Vegan but it does make me happy when I see a skincare/makeup product is vegan or cruelty free.
That’s great to hear that a little goes a long way – it means you get to have the product for longer instead of It being done really quickly! I usually keep my serum in the bathroom as well though I did hear that the humidity in the bathroom can have a negative effect on skincare products but haven’t seen anything solid on it just yet!
I personally use First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum at night and it makes my skin really smooth the next day if you’re looking to branch out on Serums 🙂

I definitely agree! Ooh I’ve never heard about the issue of humidity but I’ll definitely look into it. Ooh thank you for the recommendation, I haven’t heard of that one before x
March 28, 2019 at 10:05 pmOh I definitely want to try this serum – always looking for new skincare products!

March 28, 2019 at 8:05 pmSometimes it’s worth paying a higher price tag for products that actually work. I’ve spent thousands on cheaper alternatives that don’t quite do the job! This sounds like a great product and a great investment for your skin! Thank you for sharing xxx

100% agree with that statement! I really think you get what you pay for x
March 28, 2019 at 10:10 pmThe benefits that this serum promotes sound absolutely wonderful but I can completely understand why you’re a little hesitant to repurchase as I’m also someone that takes things at surface value a lot. I like to see visible results within ideally a month or sometimes even quicker to justify spending any money let alone forking out! Despite that, the serum looks and sounds like a beautiful product and a fix for fatigue, ageing and stress sounds like a dream to me!

Exactly! I have definitely seen visible results from it, but £75 for 15ml is pushing what I’d typically spend I must admit. It really is wonderful, I’ll have to see how long it lasts and make a decision once I’m out- no doubt I’ll feature it in a product empties at some point x
March 29, 2019 at 8:50 amWith pleasure I am discovering the effectiveness of the serums that I find extremely ideal to use in the summer because they are lighter.
March 29, 2019 at 9:38 amI would love to try this! I like the idea that it protects the skin from harmful environmental toxins (even if you can’t really prove it). I love that what you can see makes such a difference, too.
March 29, 2019 at 11:42 amIt’s a lovely product! SKN-RG have run lab tests and shown it’s effectiveness which is fab! x
March 30, 2019 at 8:33 amMy skin loves a good serum, but I haven’t tried this one yet, so thanks for the recommendation 😉
March 29, 2019 at 12:02 pmI love skincare brands that use advanced technology. They sound so appealing to me. This sounds like a wonderful serum. Great review, Sophie!
March 29, 2019 at 2:52 pmIt’s impressive what they can do now isn’t it?! Thank you I’m glad you think so x
March 30, 2019 at 4:41 pmVegan products are definitely a big push! I’m loving that companies are FINALLY considering the environmental depletion and the well being of animals. I never understood the whole animal testing thing, it’s so vile and really breaks my heart 🙁 The product sounds super refreshing and I had no idea Lisa used it…must be a winning product 😀
xx Lena | https://lenadeexo.com
March 29, 2019 at 4:28 pmI’m loving it too- it really gets to me too that companies are still allowing animal testing when there’s just no need. I think Lisa & I were both gifted it for the same campaign, she got her review out a little earlier than I did though haha! x
March 30, 2019 at 8:20 amthis looks like an excellent product! I love that is all natural. Will have to check it out
March 29, 2019 at 5:16 pmI always feel like less is more. And a little does go a long way when it comes to the amount. This looks like a great product and I loved your review 🙂

I could use something to fight the wrinkles; this sounds like a great product!
March 30, 2019 at 12:04 amOooh, I haven’t heard of SKN-RG before but I like that they’re all about being vegan, natural, and cruelty-free. This is pretty cool! The serum looks very rich. Big plus that it protects your skin from the harmful UV rays. Even though the price is a bit steep, skincare is always an investment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

March 31, 2019 at 9:23 amHi, thanks for sharing this. It’s great to know it’s a vegan product.
March 31, 2019 at 9:27 amThis was a really interesting post! You’ve made sure to really cover all the bases and I appreciate your honesty surrounding whether or not the product has done what it claims to do. All the awards and cruelty free aspects are very impressive and definitely make it seem more reliable as a non-harmful beauty product. It is pricey I agree with you there, but like you said a little goes a long way. Thanks for sharing 😊 x
March 31, 2019 at 10:07 amThank you! It is a pretty impressive product all things considered x
March 31, 2019 at 10:29 amWow, very informative! I’m definitely taking a lot away from this post. Especially about the more technical side of this product. This serum sounds very interesting. i’d definitely be keen to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
March 31, 2019 at 10:52 amI’m so glad you think so! I find the technical side so interesting to be honest- the idea of a product inspired by energy is just amazing! x
March 31, 2019 at 4:53 pmI’m always on the lookout for a new serum and this one sounds great. I also like the consistency and that it’s vegan friendly too. (I’m not vegan either but appreciate the products!)
March 31, 2019 at 11:23 amI couldn’t be without a serum now but usually only use on in the evening so it’s been lovely to use this in the mornings too! x
April 1, 2019 at 6:34 pmHappy to see more clean beauty products on the market! It’s scary how many toxins and chemicals are in our skincare products. This sounds amazing especailly if it helps with dark circles!

It’s great peace of mind isn’t it?! It has so many wonderful benefits x
April 1, 2019 at 7:04 pmThis sounds amazing! If it does help protect against blue light, I need this in my life. But even for that soft focus glow, it sounds like it’s worth it. Skincare is definitely something worth investing in anyway for the longer term results. Great post and thank you for the mention! x

Ooo this product sounds intriguing! I like how you say it made your face feel and look after applying it. I like the sound of a soft focus effect. Would you say it has improved the look of your skin overall?
The price tag is a little steep…I wonder if it is to balance out the cost of making this non-toxins and vegan-friendly?
I don’t know if I will purchase but it does sound like a lovely serum!
Thanks for sharing,
Aimsy xoxo
April 1, 2019 at 5:34 pmhttps://www.aimsysantics.co.uk
It has a lot of benefits doesn’t it! It definitely improves the appearance of my skin in the short term but I think the blue light and anti-pollution would be very hard to measure over a long term- the lab results are promising for sure! x
April 1, 2019 at 7:16 pmOh, I was so excited to see what you thought of this serum too (thank you so much for the shout out/link BTW, very kind). I think the technology behind this product is absolutely amazing, and while I agree, it’s hard to measure all of the claims, I loved it. In fact, I’m still using mine which is nearly 2 months on from first application so, like you, I’m quite tempted to buy it when it launches. Great review and beautiful photos as always, Soph! x

April 1, 2019 at 5:42 pmYou’re so welcome- I found yours an interesting read even though I was trialling it myself! I completely agree with you. Thanks Lisa! x
April 1, 2019 at 7:11 pmSounds like a wonderful product, thank you so much for demonstrating the texture!
April 1, 2019 at 8:39 pmLots of love ♥ January Girl
It really is! No worries, I think texture is a pretty important consideration haha! x
April 2, 2019 at 10:29 amI also love hearing about vegan beauty products, I’m not vegan myself but it’s pretty amazing to see all of these products really thinking about what’s going into them and how they’re tested. The serum sounds pretty impressive, it does seem quite expensive, but I feel like it can be worth spending more money on beauty products if you know they’re longer lasting, works better, and all round better in quality, of course, that isn’t always the case though!

It’s a definite bonus isn’t it?! I totally agree, skincare is something I’ve always been comfortable investing in but to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than around £50 on one item so I’m still debating it haha! x
April 2, 2019 at 3:23 pmThis product does sound great but that’s a pretty steep price tag omg! Xx
April 1, 2019 at 9:03 pmI agree that it’s pretty steep but I 100% also think that good skincare is worth investing in x
April 2, 2019 at 10:27 amAh it sounds so luxurious 😍 what a treat!
