June Highlights | What I’ve Been Up To

Highlights; City breaks and pretty cakes..

June is similar to a Wednesday, a hump-month if you will. Although I despise thinking of time in this way, it’s so shocking that we’re already over the hump and into the second half of the year. Despite Junes consistent downfall in the form of particularly aggressive hay fever, it was full of highlights. Read more

    April Highlights | 2018

Despite the showers, April was my best month of the year so far. Not only did we have a few sunny days here in the UK, but April was also host to my first holiday of the year. I’m definitely not ready for May, but it’s here anyway! Before I put April to bed, here are my highlights… Read more

    March Highlights

Happy Easter! How are we now a quarter of the way through the year?! I can’t believe how quickly the past two months have flown by. On a positive note, we’re now over March and officially into Spring so hopefully the weather will start improving and there will be much less snow! Read more

    February Highlights

    February Favourites

Does anyone know where February went? In stark comparison to January, which felt like a year in itself, February has come and gone in the blink of an eye! The one thing that these months did have in common, was that they were both far too cold. We all know that cold weather comes with the panic around drying out skin and brittle nails. The majority of my highlights this month are skincare related. Read more

    December Favourites

Can you believe it’s 2018!? It feels so strange to look back at the things I loved most last month because Christmas already feels so far away! December is always one of the busiest months and one full of spending, gifts, and food, so I have a few favourites to share with you here!

    Charlotte Tilbury
    Film Star Bronze and Glow
    The Luxury Palette, Dolce Vita

If you read my What I Got For Christmas post you’ll know that these products were on my Christmas list and I was gifted them both by my wonderful partner. I’ve lusted after these for a while now but just couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on myself (given the amount of beauty products I already have). I was applying these products a mere half an hour after unwrapping them, and have been in love ever since. The bronze and glow is the most subtle yet effective contour product I’ve ever used and is worth every penny.

    What I got For Christmas

Stila Warm and Fuzzy Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Set

Another Christmas gift, this set contains shades; Splendore Shimmer, Beso, and Caramello. Beso being my favourite (worn below) is the most perfect, foolproof true red colour. These last amazingly through eating, drinking and anything else you may do on a day to day basis. They are quite drying so I usually remove it myself after around 5 hours (when I find that it starts to become uncomfortable).

    MEMI December Favourites

    MEMI *
    Millenial Palette
    & Climax Satin Luxe Lipstick

I hadn’t heard of MEMI until recently when I was sent a couple of their products to try, but it was love at first sight. The Millennial palette contains the most gorgeous shades and hosts a perfect mixture of both mattes and shimmers, and the lipstick is nude which works well with pretty much any make up look! Another bonus is the packaging which has a really high end feel to it, I particularly love that the palette features a lovely big mirror which is just the right size to actually be able to utilise (unlike most palette mirrors I own).

    MEMI December Favourites

    LUSH Butterbear Bath Bomb

Whenever the cold Winter weather hits, I love treating myself to a bath and pamper evening. I’ve loved using Butterbear recently because its just so simple and faff free! Theres no dramatically coloured water or glitter floating around you, but this bath bomb contains cocoa butter so not only does it smell delicious, but it also leaves your skin feeling super soft (which is always handy at this time of year).

    M&S Stuffing

Sage and Onion Stuffing is literally my favourite part of a Christmas dinner. I’m obsessed with the stuff and M&S or Waitrose definitely do it best.

    Terry’s Chocolate Orange

The original Terry’s Chocolate Orange are basically a Christmas tradition in our house. Its not Christmas without (at least) one.

    Winter Wonderland & London Trip

There is a more in depth post on this too, but I had the best and most festive day so had to include it! I loved wandering around looking at all of the beautiful Christmas decorations decking the streets of London. Covent Garden had to be the most beautiful. As you can see looking at the sky, we chose the most perfect day to go, of course it was cold, but it was also sunny and fresh!

    December Favourites

I hope you had the best Christmas and I wish you the happiest 2018!

    November Beauty Favourites

November is another month that’s bitten the dust and we’re nearly at the end of this year! Here are my favourites for last month!

    OPI Nail Envy

(For Dry and Brittle Nails) I swear when the weather gets colder my whole body shuts down. I’m always much more hungry than usual, my lips, hair and skin get super dry, and my nails become brittle and break much more easily. I’ve only been using this for a couple of weeks but its already strengthened my nails and since using it none of them have broken or spilt!

    November Favourite

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex

I recently bought this at Superdrug in the Black Friday sales as it was majorly reduced and had such great reviews (it’s no longer available there, sorry!). I’ve only used it a few times so far but have found it so effective. I have to say, I prefer the texture of my Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser, but I tend to use that in the evenings and have been using the Elizabeth Arden in the mornings. I can’t fault the product results in the slightest, my make-up goes on nicely after it and I can really see a difference in how long my skin stays looking hydrated and looking awake.

*Grape Energy Face Serum Hyaluron +

I was recently recieved this face serum by ERA Natur and was absolutely blown away. I’m usually a sucker for high end packaging and probably would have walked right by this if I’d have seen it in a store. This is a classic don’t judge a book by its cover scenario because this serum itself is amazing. I usually use the No7 Protect and Perfect serum, and this Bilka product has a very similar consistency. Its hydrating, feels lovely and soothing on the skin, and smells good too, which is just a nice bonus!

    Mad Beauty Disney Range

I’ve already written a more in depth review of the Mad Beauty range. Throughout November I’ve really enjoyed using these products, particularly the bath petals and make up palette!

Going out to Arbuckle’s with a few work friends for a cocktail (or four) was a highlight of November. I’m always so busy with work, social media and study that I never seem to make enough time to actually enjoy myself. This is an issue that I’ll definitely be tackling in the New Year. Its so important to take some time away from working to actually relax and enjoy yourself!

    November Favourite

    Black Friday Sales

You’re officially an adult when you’re excited about buying a Dyson in the Tesco sales. However I also utilised 50% off clothing on Pretty Little Thing, 20% off ASOS, plus decent discounts at both Superdrug and Debenhams. Who doesn’t love a good bargain?!

    November Favourite

    Christmas Decorations

I don’t decorate my own house until the beginning of December. That doesn’t stop me loving that the stores and high-streets are covered in lights and decorations beforehand. Theres something so magical about Christmas lights glowing in the dark. They’re so festive and excited for the whole Christmas period.

Are any of your November highlights similar to mine? I’d love to hear all about them in the comments!
