The Topshop Power Suit | How To Get Great Cost Per Wear

The power suit isn’t just an outfit, it’s a vibe. A statement.

There are clothes that hold a certain type of power. Pieces which are able to transform you into someone a little more put together and a lot more confident. One of my life goals is to achieve that level of perfection throughout my entire wardrobe. For now though, I’ll stick with introducing you to the power suit.

As soon as I set eyes on the pale blue suit in Topshop, my head took me to somewhere more expensive. It’s a great dupe for that Balmain suit, the one which Victoria from In The Frow was wearing when I met her a couple of weeks ago. The one which would set you back a mere £2895. Ouch. I’m not trying to argue that the quality is on par, but in comparison, £79 is a major steal.

In only the first week of welcoming the power suit as a staple into my wardrobe, I wore it both together and apart. It’s safe to say I’m sold.

WEAR IT TOGETHER

I originally purchased the suit with a wedding in mind. I’ve always been more of a dress girl, but in trying to push myself out of my style comfort zone, I was eager to try something different on for size. I wore a cropped white top and white heels to compliment the blue.

WEAR IT APART

A smart blazer is one of the easiest style fixes. The light blue is perfect for spring / summer and you can sling it on over almost anything to make an ensemble look much more structured. I’ve been loving pairing the blazer with jeans and a simple tee for an effortless smart-casual look.

The trousers are a dream to wear too, although they’re not quite as versatile. Paired with blouses or tees, they’re easy to wear everywhere from the office to dinner dates.

A WARDROBE STAPLE

Initially I had no idea that I’d be getting such great cost per wear. I feel as though the term capsule wardrobe or wardrobe staple incites images of boring neutrals; black jeans and cardigans. Whilst I’m not one to criticise the neutrals (seriously, I wear a lot of monochrome), that’s really not what its all about. It’s about finding versatile pieces that you love, that inspire you and that you want to wear over and over again.

I love this suit so much!!! I saw it online while I was looking for dresses for my grad ball, and my friend actually bought it for that night. It’s so gorgeous, such a lovely colour as well 😍 I’m starting a new job in a few weeks and I have to buy some new clothes for it, and I’ve had this suit on my mind every since I saw it that one time. I think this is a sign I should buy it 😂

Love the blue colour of the jacket, it’s so pretty! I have never worn a suit before, but I have always seen people wear them out and about, or on Instagram etc, and I always think they look so pretty and smart, it’s a great style!

I love the powder blue colour and how versatile this suit can be. I’ve never worn a suit before but I could definitely see myself wearing one as separates.

Thank you! I love the colour too, I know where you’re coming from, it’s much easier and less bold to wear them as separates x

I love the soft, blue power suit. It looks so comfortable. It can be worn with dresses, skirts, and jeans. A power suit is a must staple for any wardrobe.

I love the power suits! It’s one way to make a statement while looking stylish. I like that you can pair it with so many different pieces. I know I like to wear my blazers unbuttoned with dresses, hehe. Thanks for sharing this find!
