If Valentine’s hasn’t yet crossed your mind, here’s your friendly reminder that it’s now less than a week away. However you choose to celebrate, you’ll always earn good-partner points for picking out a great Valentine’s gift. Thoughtful doesn’t have to be expensive though and with that in mind, here’s some inspiration for affordable gifts that are under £20.
GIFTS FOR YOU BOTH
The ultimate gifting loophole is to give your partner something that you’ll benefit from too. Sometimes it’s all too obvious (like the back massage machine that J got me for Christmas!) but on Valentines, there are loads of gift options that you’ll both appreciate. Plus, it’s kind of romantic to share, right?
Nice chocolates are such a classic Valentine’s gift. They’re also a great accompaniment to a movie if you’re just planning a quiet evening in. For more edible gift suggestions check out my Swizzels Sweets picks.
This is more than just a jar, it’s a gesture to show that you want to enjoy more date nights together. It’s definitely the cutest way of saving up for them too! The jar is the perfect size to pop in little post-it notes with future date ideas on them too. When you fancy a date night you can look over the ideas and see which you can afford right now! Great ideas will also give you both something to look forward to and will act as a motivation to save more.
Another classic that you can’t really go wrong with to make a cosy night in even better. Fizz marks the occasion and its a perfect little gift to bring out and enjoy after a romantic home-cooked meal.
The sweetest little novelty set that portrays a message. What’s more romantic than lighting a load of candles and running your loved one a bath with a dedicated Valentines bath bomb?
Speaking of lighting a load of candles. These are the perfect way to add a little ambiance and to fill the house with a lovely scent. Lily Candles have a whole range but I’d really recommend ‘Relax’ or ‘Fairy Dust’. Plus, these have a great burning time so you can both continue to enjoy it for the rest of the month and the scent will remind you of a lovely evening.
JUST FOR THEM – A VALENTINES CARD
Moonpig is perhaps best known for their cards and offer some fantastic personalised options. I’m not going to share my pick yet as I want J to be the first to see it- but it’s super cute and has pictures of us together on both the front and the back!
Whatever you’re planning this Valentine’s day, I hope you have a great one.
