Over the years, Zara has become one of my favourite places to refresh my wardrobe. The Zara Autumn Winter collections are always filled with some amazing pieces, so at this time of year, I tend to make at least a few purchases. Between popping into stores and browsing online, I’ve recently added some perfect staples to my wardrobe. Here are the six that I’ve enjoyed styling lately.
Zara stock some of the best statement costume jewellery and I just adore their earrings. They somehow find the perfect balance between style and class, and they don’t look at all garish which can be a worry with costume jewellery.
Despite only buying mine online recently, they’re no longer available. They do have plenty of choice though if you’re looking for similar hoop earrings.
Another piece that looks to already be unavailable online (but the last, don’t worry). I bought this in the Norwich store and it’s one of the cosiest jumpers I own and is perfect for winter. What I really loved about this is the texture of the raised bobbles, which make the classic white jumper a little more interesting. Although I can’t find mine online, they do have some other lovely textured jumpers.
I tend to slightly over-shop basic tees because can you really have too many? This design has a satin-effect pocket which definitely sold it to me, as it makes it that extra little bit more interesting. Mine is mink but they also come in black and khaki (both of which I had to convince myself not to buy). For a tenner though, these make a great wardrobe staple. Such a versatile colour can be worn with almost anything, and it’s definitely not exclusive to Autumn and Winter.
The ‘mini’ description acts as an obvious clue, but I was still expecting this to be slightly bigger than it is. Despite that, it’s a really cute little bag that will go with so many ensembles, particularly for the evening. It doesn’t actually even fit my phone (the problems of owning an iPhone Max) but is just the right size for some cash, cards and a small selection of top-up makeup.
This came with a ‘special prices’ sticker on it, however, the website doesn’t mention that. I find Zara a little hit and miss with their prices, with some at absolute bargains and some that seem a little steep. Either way, I think that £18 for this is pretty fair.
I’ve already spoken about my love for midi-dresses, and midi-skirts are no exception. I couldn’t resist adding this staple black pleated skirt as it’s perfect to dress either up or down and will suit so many occasions.
Heels and a blouse make a perfect pairing for occasion-wear. Equally, it can be styled down by wearing a jumper and some trainers. At this time of year, tights are an essential pairing to midi-skirts. If the outfit doesn’t suit tights, then I simply cut the feet off at a level so that they can provide warmth but no longer be seen.
There’s nothing more effective than a chic blazer to instantly smarten a look. Although I have a couple of smart tailored jackets, both are a little more formal than a blazer. There was a definite gap in my wardrobe for this, and it’s a staple piece that I’m confident I’ll get so much wear out of.
Zara Autumn Winter pieces now make up a considerable amount of my wardrobe for the colder months. I’ll be wearing these staples over and over and I’d definitely recommend a browse at what else they have. Where have you been shopping lately?
